Covid-19 Travel Guide
Please note that all information on this page is subject to change alongside government guidance in our destination countries and changes to the global situation.
All our policies relating to testing, entry requirements, and self-isolation will reflect the policies of the national governments of each destination we operate in. This means all policies will occasionally be revised to reflect any changes. Any major changes will be communicated to guests directly whenever possible.
What are the Yacht Getaways COVID entry requirements for guests?
To attend a Yacht Getaways trip you need to provide evidence that you are fully vaccinated. Alternatively, you will need to produce a negative PCR or Rapid Antigen Test within 72 hours of check-in.
It is vital that you arrive with the correct documentation to allow you to take part in your sailing trip. Our requirements are consistent with the conditions of entry to Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Montenegro and Italy.
See below for the documents that will be accepted at check-in. You are only required to bring ONE of the following documents.
- Proof of a negative PCR Test within 72 hrs of boarding.
- Proof of a negative Rapid Antigen test within 72 hrs of boarding.
- Proof of a Covid vaccine.
Your test result or proof of vaccine must remain onboard with you for the remainder of the holiday so please do keep them somewhere safe.
What are the entry requirements for my destination?
National governments have taken all the necessary steps to ensure that all travellers to their country pose a minimal risk of carrying Covid-19 and being at risk of infecting other travellers.

Do you have testing and vaccination requirements for in-country staff?
All Yacht Getaways staff (including skippers and hosts) are required to be fully vaccinated. All of our crew are also tested regularly for Covid-19 and we carry out regular checks on any symptoms to ensure they remain in good health.
This allows them to perform their job which involves cooking, handling ropes, escorting you in dinghies/on tours and working in the shared space onboard.
All our staff are also given additional training on Covid-19 awareness training for symptoms and transmission.
What are my options if I (or one of my crew) are unable to attend our Yacht Getaways trip due to contracting COVID?
If you or someone in your crew contracts COVID before your trip departure and are unable to attend, you will not be entitled to a refund.
Travel insurance covering COVID disruption is a requirement of your booking with us and is widely available and affordable.
You must be satisfied that your insurance fully covers all your personal requirements including pre-existing medical conditions, cancellation charges, medical expenses, and repatriation in the event of accident or illness, personal belongings and money, and cover your stay aboard a yacht.
If you are unable to get to your departure destination due to Government Travel Restrictions ** relating to COVID-19 you will be issued a Future Travel Discount to the value of the payment you have made.
Future Travel Discounts must be claimed within 12 months.
Please note Future Travel Discounts cannot be exchanged for cash.
** Government Travel Restrictions are qualified as:
You are unable to travel to your departure destination due to government travel restrictions.
Please note, in the event the country you are visiting allows entry but requires a negative test for COVID-19 which you are unable to provide, our policy does not class such situations as COVID-19 disruption and normal cancellation terms would apply.
What happens if I test positive during my Yacht Getaways trip?
The requirement to self-isolate when testing positive for COVID is a legal requirement in all of our sailing destinations at the moment. Please note that this policy is subject to change based on local policies and restrictions.
If you have symptoms or a high temperature during your trip you will be required to take a Rapid Antigen Test and the rest of the group on your yacht will also be tested.
If you and/or any of the rest of the crew test positive you will be required to isolate yourself from the remaining crew and leave your yacht at the earliest opportunity. This will mean the end of your Yacht Getaways trip. You will then need to follow the procedures that are in place for positive cases in the destination country. Crew members testing negative will be permitted to continue.
Please note that Yacht Getaways will not cover the cost of any test that may be required nor will you be reimbursed any missed days of your trip. Self-isolation could lead to missed flights and additional accommodation expenses. Yacht Getaways will not cover the cost of any of these additional expenses.
